UPDATE – As of April 22, there is a new Call of Duty update released by Infinity Ward. It's a pain, but the alternative scenario of the game being completely offline and not working is a far more annoying proposition. We would suggest checking the Infinity Ward Twitter account, or posts on the official Call of Duty Modern Warfare subreddit for updates.Īs we mention, it's most likely that the game is just forcing players to download a new update. Likely a result of the servers suddenly having thousands of players attempting to log on in one fell swoop.
Possibly because it contains some important updates and bug fixes that are required to make sure the game run smoothly.Īs players are required to download the new update, it would appear that players were removed from the game and immediately placed into a massive queue to return to the game. Infinity Ward will require players to download this new update before proceeding. It's more likely that there's a new update that's just been released, which explains why players will have been signed out.
However, is Call of Duty actually down? Are Modern Warfare and Warzone players really unable to play the game? Given the huge outcry from players, there's also been a massive spike in reports on Down Detector.
